Cullop Announces Coaching and Operations Staff Hires

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami head women’s basketball coach Tricia Cullop announced hires to her coaching and operations staff Friday.

Fitzroy Anthony will serve as associate head coach, continuing into his 10th season with the Miami coaching staff. Director of basketball and recruiting operations, Lonnette Hall, and director of basketball operations and special projects, Margie Gill, will also join Cullop’s staff.

Former University of Toledo associate head coach Jessie Ivey and former Toledo assistant coach/recruiting coordinator Danielle Page will also join Cullop’s staff.

“I’m thrilled to have these positions filled with such high character, hard working, and talented people,” head coach Tricia Cullop said. “I’m also excited about the interest for the three remaining positions and hope to have them filled in the next few weeks.”

Jessie Ivey – Associate Head Coach

Ivey joins Miami as associate head coach after four seasons with Toledo where she worked as the Rockets’ defensive coordinator and as a key piece in recruiting, academic support and opponent scouting.

The Jay, Fla., native returns to her home state after nearly a decade and a half in the coaching ranks. After scoring 1,616 points at Jay High School in the state’s panhandle, Ivey earned four letters on the court for the University of West Florida Argonauts.

From there she joined her alma mater as a graduate assistant coach before taking over as assistant coach for the next four years. She then made the jump to Ohio, beginning an eight-year stretch in the state, first with Bowling Green State University as an assistant coach.

Ivey would then take over as head coach at Division II Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio, jump-starting the program while leading Tiffin to a series of “firsts.”

Continuing With the Canes

Anthony, Gill and Hall combine for 36 years of experience at the University of Miami in their respective capacities.

Anthony joined the Miami staff in 2015, working his way up to associate head coach prior to the 2022-23 season. The Antigua native moved to Boca Raton, Fla., at the age of 12 and has put up sizable roots in the game of basketball here in South Florida. This past season he was named the No. 2 assistant in the nation per The Athletic, while also being tabbed to participate in the WBCA’s 2024 Next Gen Institute.

Gill has served a crucial role for the Hurricanes over the last decade in Coral Gables, working behind the scenes in a myriad of capacities from basketball operations, special projects, team travel, scheduling and budget management. She also heads the supervision of all non-coaching personnel and served as the NCAA, ACC and WBCA liaison in 2018 and 2019.

Hall has worn multiple hats in her 17 years with the Hurricanes. Much like Gill, Hall oversees many elements of basketball operations, while also acting as the liaison with the academics, compliance and housing departments within the University of Miami. From 2007-10 she worked as assistant coach and has been pivotal in Miami’s recruiting efforts.
