Miami Opens ACC Tournament Against North Carolina Thursday

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Miami women’s basketball enters the 2024 Ally ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament as the No. 9 seed, taking on No. 8-seeded North Carolina in the second round Thursday, March 7 at 1:30 p.m. from the Greensboro Coliseum.

The winner advances to take on top-seeded Virginia Tech in the quarterfinals Friday, March 8 at 1:30 p.m. Miami and UNC faced off once this season, with the Canes nearly erasing a double-digit deficit before coming up just short, 66-61, in Chapel Hill Jan. 25.

Miami is one of five teams receiving a single bye, with Clemson, Boston College, Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh, Virginia and Wake Forest opening play Wednesday. All games will air on the ACC Network, with the championship game set to tip-off March 10 at 1 p.m.

Miami is 5-3 all-time in ACC Tournament second round games. Last season the Canes dispatched Boston College in the second round, 84-69.

Tickets may be purchased at theacc.com/tickets or Ticketmaster.com. This season marks the 24th time in 25 years that the Greensboro Coliseum will serve as the host to the ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament.

This year’s field features five teams in the latest Associated Press (AP) Poll, with nine appearing in the most recent NCAA NET Top 50.
