Hurricanes Drop 4-3 Battle To UCF
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s tennis team dropped a hard-fought 4-3 battle to UCF on Sunday afternoon.
The Hurricanes clinched the doubles point to start off the match. Martin Katz and Antonio Prat defeated Giamichelle and Llanes, 6-3, on court three, while Nacho Serra Sanchez and Sam Baumgartner took down Cronje/Branger, 6-4, on court two.
Going into singles, Katz got things started with a 6-4, 6-4 win on court two over No. 100 Cronje to give Miami the 2-0 advantage.
UCF secured three consecutive courts to lead 3-2. Serra Sanchez tied the match up with a 6-4, 6-4 win over No. 120 Benchakroun on court five.
Coming down to the last point on court three, Prat battled Toto for the win. After constant back-and-forth action, UCF took the court in three sets.
The Hurricanes will return home to host UTSA on Feb. 23 at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
