CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team wrapped up its last fall tournament after hosting the Miami Fall Invite this weekend.

Day one started with a doubles win from Antonia Balzert and Audrey Boch-Collins over Nathalia Wolf Gasparin and Alina Michalitsch of Barry, 6-3.

The squad then moved on to singles where Boch-Collins took down Dinara Alloiarova (BU), 6-3, 6-1. Leonie Schuknecht then claimed a win against Clara Versier (BU), 6-4, 6-3. Balzert dropped the battle to Alina Michacitsh, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2.

Miami kicked off day two with three singles victories. Schuknecht took down Kiley Rabjohns from Northwestern, 6-1, 4-6, 7-5. Then, Boch-Collins defeated Maria Shusharina (NW), 6-4, 6-3. Finally, Balzert won 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 over Jennifer Riester.

Isabella Pfennig and Xinyi Nong joined the team for doubles and took down Carol Lee and Kate Sharabura of Georgia Tech, 6-2.

The final day started with Nong and Pfennig defeating Sydney Pratt and Elisa Van Meeteren (NW), 6-2. Then Alexa Noel and Balzert took down Rabjohns and Lau (NW), 6-3, and Schuknecht and Boch-Collins won 6-4 over Lee and Bilchev (GT).

The Canes took five singles wins to close out the last tournament of the season. Noel defeated Lee (GT), 6-3, 7-5, Pfennig won 7-5, 6-2 over Bilchev (GT) and Nong finished off Rabjohns (NW), 6-2, 6-2. Schuknecht dropped the 4-6, 6-2, 3-6 to Jain (GT), but Balzert claimed the 6-4, 6-4 win over Shusharina and Boch-Collins won 6-2, 6-2 over Pratt (NW) to make up for it.

Miami will be back in action in January for the spring season. The full schedule will be released at a later time.
