Byrne Notches Top-10 Finish at the Briar’s Creek Invitational

JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. – Sara Byrne earned her first top-10 finish of the spring slate leading the University of Miami golf team at the Briar’s Creek Invitational.

Byrne shot one-under par on Tuesday at the par-72 Golf Club at Briar’s Creek. Byrne climbed the individual leaderboard 12 spots in the final round, to earn her top-10 spot, finishing even par (216). This marks her second top-10 finish and tenth round of under par this year.

As a team, the Hurricanes placed 16th with a 54-hole score of 920 (+56).

No. 30-ranked Southern Methodist University (SMU) won the team title with a score of 851 (-13). Following closely behind, no. 20-ranked UCF earned second-place 854 (-10), followed by Maryland, with a final score of 867 (+3), to round out the top three.

Miami will return to action in a few short weeks at The Bruzzy on Apr. 1 in Ardmore, OK.
