MBB Places No. 16/15 Nationally
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s basketball team is once again in the top 20 of both major national polls.
Miami (23-6, 14-5 ACC) checks in at No. 16 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll and No. 15 in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll this week.
This is the 12th consecutive week the Hurricanes are top-25 in each poll, including the ninth time in the last 10 weeks they are in the top 20 of both.
Miami split its two matchups last week. It earned a 76-70 road victory Tuesday at Virginia Tech and then dropped an 85-84 home decision Saturday against Florida State on a buzzer-beating 3-pointer.
The Hurricanes are one of three consensus top-25 ACC teams, alongside No. 13/12 Virginia and No. 25 Pittsburgh. Additionally, Clemson, Duke and NC State are all receiving votes in both polls.
Miami concludes the regular season Saturday at 6 p.m. against No. 25 Pittsburgh, live on ACC Network from the Watsco Center, with the No. 1 seed in the ACC Tournament likely on the line.
