Hurricanes Announce 2022-23 Rowing Schedule
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami head rowing coach James Mulcahy released the team’s schedule for the 2022-23 season Wednesday.
“Racing is the best part of the sport and what we train for, so we’re very pleased to have such a robust and challenging racing schedule for 2022-23,” Mulcahy said. “Our schedule will provide us with many opportunities to test ourselves against excellent teams, and if we take advantage of these opportunities, we will be well prepared to achieve our goals in the postseason. We know how much time and effort goes into hosting a regatta, and we are very grateful to all the programs that have invited us to come and race their events. Go Canes!”
The Hurricanes’ will compete in seven races during the 2022-23 regular season. The Canes will kick off their Fall portion of the season in Miami Beach for the Head of the Indian Creek race on October 15. In a few short weeks following this race, the Hurricanes will head to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for the Head of the Black Warrior River race on October 29, to conclude the fall slate.
Miami will start their 2023 spring season on March 4 in Deland, Fla. at Stetson. The Canes will head to Orlando, Fla., following the race at Stetson to face off against Central Florida and UConn on March 17. Miami will then compete in Sarasota, Fla., for the Sunshine State Invite on March 31 and April 1.
The Canes will head to East Lansing, MI., to race at the Michigan State Invite on April 15.
Miami will conclude its regular season at the Lake Wheeler Invite in Raleigh, N.C., co-hosted by ACC competitors, Duke and North Carolina, on April 21-22.
