Canes Look to Bounce back in Tallahassee

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Facing a quick three day turn around, the University of Miami golf team is set for the FSU Match-Up.

In its ninth year, the three-day event, Friday to Sunday, is set to take place at the par-72, 6,255 yard Seminole Legacy Golf Club in Tallahassee, Fla.

There are twelve teams in the field, including three top-25 programs – No. 3 Oregon, No. 16 Florida State and No. 20 Arizona.

The teams will tee off in groups of three with each team having a pair for the match-up aspect of the tournament. Scoring for the event will be based on the four best scores from the partners (a total of 10 players) and the worst score to calculate the match up team total. At the end of the weekend, the teams with the lowest score will win the Match Up, along with the crowning of an individual champion and a team champion.

Miami is matched up with Oregon State, an experience team coming off a seventh place finish at the Nanea Pac-12 Preview. They will tee off at 8:30 a.m. (ET).

UM’s lineup includes Anna Backman, Kristyna Frydlova, Nataliya Guseva, Daniella Barrett and Sara Byrne. Additionally, Franziska Sliper will compete as on individual.
