Canes Take on ACC Indoor Championships
Miami's track and field program looks to capitalize on a familiar track for the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships.
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – For the third time this season, the Miami track and field program will compete on the orange and purple track home to the Clemson Tigers.
This time, it’s for the conference title.
Miami made its way to the track in style, bringing the heat to South Carolina.
After arrival, the Canes had one day of practice prior to the three-day competition.
The defending ACC Women’s Indoor Field MVP, weight throw and shot put champion, Debbie Ajagbe will begin this weekend’s competition at 2 p.m. in the weight throw. Junior Hannah Hall will also be in competition in the event. Sophomore Taylor Wright will look for her third high jump event win on Clemson’s track at 3:30 p.m., followed by Kevin Arreaga in the men’s weight throw and Oskars Bambals in the men’s 800m at 5 p.m.
Transfer Isaiah Holmes will make his second appearance in the Canes uniform at 7 p.m. to close out day of the ACC tournament.
Both Russell Robinson and Kevin Snyder will compete in the men’s long jump on Friday, the lone field event for Miami. The track will see plenty of Canes competing for titles or a spot in the finals spanning from 4 p.m. in the men’s mile until 6:30 p.m. in the women’s hurdles.
Miami will conclude the meet on Saturday with countless events. The me’s shot put at 11 a.m., with Jeff Williams will begin the day until the women’s 4×400 relay closes out the competition at 3:40 p.m.
