Diving Sweeps FAU in Final Tune-Up

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — The Miami Hurricanes diving team swept FAU on Friday afternoon in the team’s final competition before the ACC Swimming & Diving Championships.

Brodie Scapens and Zach Cooper blew away the men’s competition, with Scapens cruising to a win in the 3-meter springboard (396.08) and Cooper managing the same on the platform (393.00) at the Norman Whitten Pool.

Both Scapens and Cooper medaled at last year’s trip to the ACC Championships, with Scapens taking a silver in the 3-meter and Cooper doing the same in the platform.

On the women’s side, Mia Vallee (333.75) edged out teammate Millie Haffety (317.03) for the top-two finishes in the 3-meter. Jessie Creed finished her afternoon with a score of 213.68 on the platform.

Miami’s swimming team will take part in the First Chance Meet on Sat., Feb. 13 before the team travels to Greensboro, N.C., for the 2021 ACC Swimming & Diving Championship.
