Mompremier Named WBCA All-America Honorable Mention

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – For the second straight season, redshirt senior Beatrice Mompremier has earned postseason recognition from the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), receiving an All-America Honorable Mention nod on Thursday.

She joins eight other players from the Atlantic Coast Conference on the list. The ACC’s eight selections are tied for the most of any conference.

In addition to earning the accolade from the WBCA, Mompremier also received plaudits from the AP earlier in March. She is one of just three players in Miami program history to earn nods from both the WBCA and the AP in back-to-back seasons, joining Tamara James and Shenise Johnson.

Mompremier garnered the distinction following her final season with the Hurricanes, averaging 16.8 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. She ranked first and fifth in the Atlantic Coast Conference rebounding and scoring, respectively, while sitting sixth in blocked shots (1.41) and seventh in field goal percentage (.521).

Mompremier eclipsed the 1,000 rebound mark this season, becoming the 13th active NCAA Division I women’s basketball player to reach 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in her career.
