SAAC ENCOURAGES SOCIAL DISTANCING ON INSTAGRAM
The UM Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) continues to raise the bar in communication and engagement during these difficult times. The SAAC executive board has encouraged social distancing, with leading by example with their online campaign, which can be found at @um_sadv on Instagram. Our SAAC group now has weekly Zoom meetings with Athletic Director Blake James in order to receive the most current information from the ACC and NCAA levels. He also has been a great means of support for our student-athlete leaders, by listening to their concerns in these uncertain times. Some of the topics discussed are: remote learning, mental health, social distancing, and possible eligibility for seniors to return and compete during spring 2021. Together, they have had an important exchange of information, a supportive (digital) environment and a new way to engage with each other and our department’s leadership.
