Grimstad Earns Top-15 Finish at Hurricane Invitational

CORAL GABLES, Fla. –The University of Miami golf wrapped up play on its home course, placing eighth at the Hurricane Invitational.
 
Competing at the par 72, 6,100-yard Biltmore Hotel and Golf Course, the Hurricanes were led by Renate Grimstad, as the senior surged up the leaderboard on Tuesday with a four-under 68 final round.
 
Entering the third round tied for 29th at eight-over-par, the reigning ACC Golfer of the Month moved up 18 spots to finish tied for 11th at four-over 220. The Bergen, Norway, native carded five birdies over the final 16 holes and closed out the event with 16 consecutive par or better holes.

Joining Grimstad among the top-25, sophomore Anna Backman finished tied for 23rd at 10-over-par.
 
Rounding out the Hurricanes’ lineup were junior Kristyna Frydlova (T47, +16), senior Macarena Aguilera (T50, +17), freshman Franziska Sliper (T50, +17), freshman Daniella Barrett (T60, +21) and freshman Morgan Pankow (T67, +23)
 
Overall, the Hurricanes finished eighth at 39-over 903.
 
Up next, Miami will head north to Kiawah Island, S.C., to take part in the Briar’s Creek Invitational March 16 and 17.
