Three Canes Named to All-ACC Academic Rowing Team

CORAL GABLES, Fla.– Three members of the University of Miami rowing team were named to the 2019 All-ACC Academic Team, as announced Wednesday by the conference office.

Jackie Lippincott, Autumn Kramer and Meredith Costello were among the 61 student-athletes named to the 2019 All-ACC Academic Team.

Lippincott earned her first All-ACC Academic honor after an excellent year on and off the water. The senior coxed Miami’s Second Varsity Four to a bronze medal at the 2019 ACC Rowing Championship and also led her boat to a bronze medal in the Women’s Collegiate Championship 4+ event at the Head of the Indian Creek and third place at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational. A native of Tampa, Fla., Lippincott is a two-time President’s Honor Roll (4.0) recipient and made the Provost Honor Roll (3.75) recipient four times. Lippincott, who made Dean’s List (3.5), Athletic Director’s Honor Roll (3.2) and Book Buster Club (3.0) in all eight semesters at Miami, graduated in May with a degree in economics/finance.

Kramer is another first time All-ACC Academic honoree, earning the distinction after taking home a bronze medal as part of Miami’s Second Varsity Four at the ACC Rowing Championship. A novice rower, Kramer competed for the Canes at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational, Sunshine State Invitational, Lake Natoma Invitational and Lake Wheeler Invitational. Kramer, who earned a master’s in sport administration in May, was on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and Book Buster Club in both semesters this academic year.

Costello was named All-ACC Academic for the first time in her career. A native of Sioux Falls, S.D., she was a member of Miami’s bronze medal-winning Second Varsity Four at the 2019 ACC Rowing Championship. Costello also raced for the Hurricanes at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational, Sunshine State Invitational and Lake Wheeler Invitational. A freshman majoring in neuroscience and biochemistry, Costello earned President’s Honor Roll, Provost’s Honor Roll, Dean’s List, Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and Book Buster Club in both the fall and spring semesters.

Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.

The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
