Golf Set to Open Postseason at ACC Championship
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The No. 20-ranked University of Miami golf team will begin competition Thursday at the 31st Annual ACC Women’s Golf Championship in Greensboro, N.C.
Seeded fifth, the Hurricanes will open the three-day event at 9 a.m. at the 6,089-yard, par 72 championship course at Sedgefield Country Club, paired up with fourth-seeded Virginia and sixth-seeded Clemson. Live stats for the tournament will be accessible HERE. Tournament play will be carried live on ACC Network Extra beginning at 2 p.m. Friday and 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
A quintet of Hurricanes—graduate student Claudia De Antonio, juniors Macarena Aguilera and Renate Grimstad, sophomore Kristyna Frydlova and freshman Anna Backman—are set to compete.
In their most recent competition April 1-2, the Hurricanes capped the 2018-19 regular season with a fifth-place finish at the Bruzzy Invitational, while junior Renate Grimstad recorded her ninth-career top-10 performance.

Duke is the league’s highest-ranked team at third nationally, followed by Wake Forest (eight), Florida State (nine), Virginia (17) Clemson (26). North Carolina is two spots shy of the group at No. 32, while Louisville (42) and NC State (48) are also among the top 50.
Virginia Tech (52) Notre Dame (79) and Boston College (139) round out the field for the 2019 championship.
