Rowing Shines at Sunshine State Invitational

SARASOTA, Fla. – The University of Miami rowing team was back in Sarasota, Fla., to compete at the Sunshine State Invitational.

Five Hurricane boats competed in the two-day regatta. The Sunshine State Invitational hosted 12 schools including University of Kansas, Kansas State, Alabama, Old Dominion, Jacksonville University, University of Central Florida, Stetson University, University of Tulsa, Clemson University, University of Louisville, and Southern Methodist University.

“Overall the team came away from the weekend gaining some valuable racing knowledge,” head coach Dave Sanderson. “The 2v4 led the weekend by winning their heat and placing 4th overall on Sunday. Our other boats stumbled in the heats but were able to make significant corrections in their petite finals on Sunday.
