Miami Enters WGCA National Polls at No. 23
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – In the first released poll of the spring season, the University of Miami golf team checks at No. 23 in the country, as announced Friday afternoon by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).
Picking up 76 votes, the Hurricanes are tied with the University of Washington at No. 23.
Miami is one of six ACC teams represented in the rankings this week, including third-ranked Duke, No. 12 Wake Forest, No. 14 Virginia, No. 16 Florida State and No. 18 Clemson.
In their most recent competition, the Hurricanes closed out the 2019 Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate on Feb. 9 with a top-10 finish, as freshman Ann Backman ranked among the top 25 individually.
The Hurricanes will return to action March 9-10 when they compete in the Sun Trust Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.
