Volleyball Hosts No. 10 Pitt for Senior Day

CORAL GABLES, Fla. –  Seniors Kolby Bird and Haley Templeton will play in their final match at the James L. Knight Sports Complex on Sunday at 1 p.m. when the University of Miami Volleyball team hosts No. 10 Pittsburgh for Senior Day.

The Hurricanes (13-10, 9-7 ACC) hold an impressive 9-2 home record entering Sunday’s match against the Panthers (26-1, 15-1 ACC). 
 
Prior to Sunday’s match, the Canes will honor Bird and Templeton for their remarkable contributions to the UM volleyball program. The duo holds numerous program records and lead the team in countless categories this season. 
 
Bird has played in 99 matches for the Canes as an outside hitter and has helped Miami reach the NCAA Tournament twice in her four years. The San Diego, California native has logged 796 kills, sitting at No. 16 in Miami history for career kills. The senior’s 2.46 kills per set is also the 14th best average in program history. Overall, Bird has recorded 62 aces, 50 assists, 366 digs and 142 blocks in her four years with Miami. 
 
Templeton will also leave her mark on the program with the third most career assists with 4,518 and counting. The Alpharetta, Ga., native is a four-time Preseason All-ACC honoree, was recognized on the All-ACC Academic team twice and began her collegiate career being named the ACC Freshman of the Year. Along with the third most assists, the setter has the 12th most digs in program history with 840. 
 
The pair will help lead the Canes in a match against Pitt who claimed a share of the 2018 ACC Championship Friday night with a 3-1 win over Florida State. The win marks the second ACC title for the program, after earning its first as a co-champion last season with Louisville. 
 
Miami looks for its 10th conference win of the season, led by Templeton who paces both the conference and the team with 35 aces and 0.42 per set. Templeton leads the Canes with 847 assists with Bird leading the way in kills with 270. 
 
The University of Miami – Coral Gables Campus has introduced an updated parking policy for the 2018-19 school year. Enforcement is now extended to seven days a week, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. PayByPhone and additional pay stations are available across all campus parking lots and garages to facilitate visitor parking.
