XC Heads to Tallahassee for NCAA South Regional

CORAL GABLES, Fla. –  The University of Miami cross country team heads north to Tallahassee, Fla., for the 2018 NCAA South Region Cross Country Championships on Friday. 
 
The women’s 6K Championship can be watched live here and the men’s 10K Championship can be viewed here.
 
Five Canes will compete in the women’s 6K set for 8:30 a.m., followed by Dylan Sykes representing the Miami men in the 10k at 9:30 a.m., at the Apalachee Regional Park. Miami will be joined by fellow ACC opponents Georgia Tech and Florida State at the event. 
 
Senior Anne den Otter, junior Olivia Raymond and sophomores Abby Kettle, Simone Vreeland and Olivia Raymond are set to compete in just the second 6K event of the season for the Canes. den Otter posted the Canes best 6K time at the ACC Championships with a time of 22:53 last time out. 
 
Kettle was close behind the senior with a time of 23:25 and will look to improve her time on Friday. 
 
Sykes is the lone male competitor representing the Canes on the men’s side in Tallahassee in the 10K. Sykes has been dominant all season for Miami and has been the first Cane to cross the finish line in all five races this season. Sykes will run his first 10K this season on Friday and it will be the first time the sophomore will compete in the NCAA Regional.
