Dewi Weber Advances to Q-Series

VENICE, Fla. – Senior Dewi Weber of the University of Miami golf team continued to march towards her professional golf dreams on Thursday as she advanced to the final stage of the LPGA Tour Qualifying School at the Plantation Golf and Country Club.
 
Weber, who has 18 career top-10 collegiate finishes, carded a three-under 285, finishing tied for 13th out of 192 competitors.
 
During the four-round qualifier, Weber posted 13 birdies, with a total of 12 coming in the final three rounds.
 
The senior opened play on Monday tied for 133rd after hitting four-over-par, including a quintet of bogeys. On Tuesday, she regrouped by rising 100 positions after tallying five birdies to record a four-under, 68 performance.
 
Weber continued to rise up the leaderboard with a two-under-par performance on Wednesday, before closing out the week with a pair of birdies and one-under, 71 score.
 
The Groningen, Netherlands, native will return to the greens Monday, to compete in Q-series, the third and final stage. The event is scheduled from Oct. 22-Nov.3 at Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, N.C. A minimum of the top-45 players and ties will receive LPGA membership for 2019.
