Sanderson Announces 2018-19 Rowing Schedule
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s rowing team announced its upcoming schedule for the 2018-19 campaign under the direction of sixth-year head coach Dave Sanderson.
The Hurricanes are set to compete in one fall and four spring events prior to the 2019 Atlantic Coast Conference Championship in Clemson, S.C.
“I’m excited about our racing schedule for the upcoming championship season,” Sanderson said. “We have a great mix of components within the ACC and nationally. We will be able to build from one race to the next as we continually prepare for the ACC Championships on May 17-18.”
Miami’s only race of the fall is scheduled for Oct. 13, as the Canes will compete at the Head of the Indian Creek in Miami Beach, Fla. The Saturday regatta will mark the Hurricanes’ lone race on their home course for the 2018-19 season.
The spring session of racing begins with a two-day trip to Oak Ridge, Tenn., where Miami heads to the Cardinal Invitational on March 16-17.
Miami returns to action at the Sunshine State Invitational on April 5-6, where they will compete against some of the top teams in the area.
One week later, the Hurricanes gear up for the Natoma Invitational. The two-day event will take place in Sacramento, Calif. on April 13-14.
Miami’s next regatta takes the Hurricanes up to Chapel Hill, N.C., where it will compete against North Carolina, Duke, UCF and Navy on April 27.
On May 17, Miami will take part in the ACC Rowing Championships in Clemson, S.C., while the NCAA Rowing Championships are slated for May 31-June 2 in Indianapolis, Ind.
