Miami Home Centers, Miami Hurricanes Introduce Inaugural Partnership
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Miami Hurricanes and Miami Home Centers have rolled out their first-ever partnership that will provide the local, family driven hardware store unprecedented exposure with The U over the next three years.
Since 1954, Miami Home Centers has been serving the South Florida residential and business community and marks its first foray into college sports sponsorship with the hometown Hurricanes. Notably, Miami Home Centers will be integral in the social media promotion “Hometown Hero of the Game,” in which fans are encouraged to nominate a hometown hero to be honored on the field during each home football game and select basketball and baseball games. Additionally, Miami Home Centers is now a member of both the U Network to help Canes alumni transition into new career opportunities and The U’s Life After Athletics Seminar focused on educating current student-athletes.
During football, Miami Home Centers also will receive signage, digital presence and hospitality benefits through the 2020-21 collegiate athletics season as part of its relationship with the Canes. In addition, the store assumes the distinct designation of being one of three companies in the inaugural Miami Made Program. Miami Home Centers joins other corporate partners, Estrella Insurance and Milam’s Markets, in receiving specialized recognition through various UM platforms.
“This is a thrill for us, to back the Canes and invest in our own community and these hard-working student-athletes, to help make a difference,” said Miami Home Centers President Dan Hitchcock Jr. “We are looking forward to be involved and aligning with The U on varying levels over the next three years.”
According to University of Miami Director of Athletics Blake James, “The relationships we build with our local and regional businesses are invaluable to our athletics programming and the further development of our student-athletes. We’re grateful for Miami Home Centers investing in The U, being a Miami Made Program member and helping us continue to provide exceptional educational programming for our current student-athletes and recent graduates.”
With locations in South Miami, Pinecrest, Tamiami and Miami Beach, Miami Home Centers, is a complete home center with expansive Home Décor, Benjamin Moore® Paint Department, Big Green Egg and Kitchen and Bath Showroom, which includes decorative hardware and lighting on display.
