Weber Named WGCA All-American

2018 WGCA All-America Team

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – For the third straight year, junior Dewi Weber of the University of Miami golf team was selected as an All-American by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association. Weber was tabbed as a 2018 Honorable Mention All-America pick.

A native of Groningen, Netherlands, Weber is the first golfer in program history to earn All-America honors three times. She earned Golfweek and WGCA Honorable Mention All-America honors in 2016 and then was named a Second-Team All-American by Golfweek and the WGCA in 2017.

Weber finished with a 72.03 stroke average this season, which was the second-lowest single-season stroke average in program history – second only to her program-record mark of 71.94 from her sophomore season in 2016-17. Weber finished in the top 20 in nine of the 10 tournaments in which she competed in 2017-18, including four top-five finishes.

Fourteen of Weber’s 29 rounds this season were at or below par, and she was the team’s top finisher in eight of the Hurricanes’ 10 tournaments. She shot a season-low 66 (-6) at the Annika Intercollegiate on Oct. 2 and at the UCF Challenge on Feb. 5.

Weber also was named to the All-ACC Team this season for the second straight year, becoming just the second player in program history to earn All-ACC honors in multiple seasons.
