Golf Plays in ACC Championships Beginning Saturday

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami golf team begins postseason competition Saturday as it plays in the ACC Championships at the par-72, 6,122-yard Grandover Resort East Course in Greensboro, N.C. Eleven of the 12 teams in the field rank among the nation’s in the top 55, including six in the top 30.
 
The three-day, 54-hole tournament tees off at 9 a.m. Saturday. The No. 4 seed in the tournament, Miami is paired with No. 5 Louisville and No. 6 Virginia in the first round and tees off on Hole No. 1 at 9 a.m.
 
Round 2 is slated to start at 9 a.m. Sunday, while the final round is scheduled for an 8:30 tee time on Monday morning.
 
Live scoring for the tournament is available HERE. Broadcast coverage is available Sunday and Monday afternoon through ACC Network Extra, which is available to online users via WatchESPN. Coverage begins at 2 p.m. Sunday and 1 p.m. Monday.

Noting Miami
Winners of three of its five spring tournaments, Miami is ranked 27th nationally in the latest Golfweek rankings. Junior Dewi Weber is the Canes’ top-ranked golfer at No. 19 nationally, while Renate Grimstad stands at No. 60 nationally.
 
The Canes last competed April 7-8 at the Bryan National Collegiate in Browns Summit, N.C., taking 10th place in the 17-team field with a 53-over-par 913. After struggling through the opening two rounds, Miami bounced back and fired a 303 (+15) in the final round, the second lowest score of any team that day. Weber led Miami with an 8-over 224 to finish in 12th place.
 
Up Next
Miami is aiming for its sixth straight trip to the NCAA Regional Championships. Selections will be made next Wednesday, while play runs from May 7-9 at four regional sites.
