Canes Rowing Medals at Knecht Cup
WEST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. — The University of Miami rowing team had a strong showing at the Knecht Cup, earning a bronze medal in one event and winning the petite final in another.
Miami had three boats in action on Saturday at Mercer Lake, combining to participate in seven races. The Hurricanes had two boats reach the grand final in their respective events while the third boat won the petite final.
“The team had exciting racing today,” Miami head coach Dave Sanderson said. “The 2v eight led the charge with a great bronze medal performance. They made huge improvements this week and it showed on the course. The four also raced well with a strong 4th place finish. The varsity eight came away with a good closing race to win the petite final and learned a good deal from the racing progression. Overall, it’s another sign the depth of the team is improving and we will keep stepping forward as we prepare for ACCs.”
