Rowing Opens Up at Sunshine State Invite

SARASOTA, Fla. — The University of Miami rowing team kicked off the opening day of the 2018 Sunshine State Invite Friday afternoon.

The Hurricanes opened up competition at the two-day regatta held at the site of the 2018 NCAA Rowing Championships. The field for the event includes Jacksonville University, Clemson, Southern Methodist University, University of Central Florida, Stetson and North Carolina.

“The boats had solid races this afternoon,” Miami head coach Dave Sanderson said. “Each crew had high points in their respective races that reflected what they had been working on in practices. This is always great to see. We are looking forward to tomorrow and the opportunity to keep working to put more pieces of a complete race together.”
