No. 25 Miami Heads to Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The No. 25 University of Miami women’s golf team heads to New Orleans this Sunday to compete in the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate. The tournament will take place at the par 72, 6,239-yard English Turn Golf and Country Club.
THE BASICS
-Tee times begin at 10:00 a.m. ET Sunday morning and conclude on Tuesday.
-The 54-hole tournament will be spread out over three days.
-Live scoring for the tournament will be available at Golfstat.com.

THE WORD ON THE CANES
-The Hurricanes are seeking their third consecutive tournament win this spring.
-Miami has never won three straight tournaments under head coach Patti Rizzo.
-Miami will tee-it-up for the third time this spring.
-Miami finished fifth in last year’s Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate.
-The Hurricanes will be in search of their 42nd top five finish and eighth tournament win since Rizzo began her tenure 2010.
-The Hurricanes have posted top five finishes in 51 percent of their tournaments since Rizzo took over as head coach.
LAST TIME OUT: WOMEN’S TEAM CLAIMS SECOND CONSECUTIVE WIN
With the help of top-two finishes from Dewi Weber and Renate Grimstad, respectively, the Miami golf team won the UCF Challenge for second straight year on Feb. 6, combining for a team score of 868.
Miami held off East Carolina University by four strokes to repeat its triumph from last year. The Hurricanes have now won consecutive tournaments after triumphing at the Florida Challenge the week before.
The champion Weber (209), a junior, shot two-under-par at the Par 72 Eagle Creek Golf Club to lead the Hurricanes in an even final round (288), which was the team’s second-best in the Challenge after a 285 score Monday.
THE LINEUP
Macarena Aguilera
-Her sixth-place finish at the Florida Challenge on Jan. 29 was the best of her collegiate career.
-Tied for 60th at the Betsy Rawls Invite.
-Finished the ANNIKA Intercollegiate in 45th place.

Kristyna Frydlova
-Finished 37th at the Florida Challenge to open up the spring campaign.

-Placed 48th last fall at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate.
-Tied for 26th at the Schooner Fall Classic thanks to a pair of rounds fewer than 70.
-Made her collegiate debut on Sept. at the Schooner Fall Classic.

Renate Grimstad
-Averages 73.14 strokes per round.
-Took runner-up honors at the UCF Challenge on Feb. 6.
-Placed fourth at the Florida Challenge Jan. 29.
-Tied for 28th in the Betsy Rawls Invitational on Oct. 10.
-Posted her fourth top-15 finish of her career at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate on Oct. 3.
-Tied for 63rd in her first tournament of the year at the Schooner Fall Classic on Sept. 25.
Roos Haarman
-Took 50th at the Florida Challenge to open up the spring campaign.
-Tied for 60th at the Betsy Rawls Invitational.
-Finished in 60th place last week at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate.
-Made her collegiate debut at the Schooner Fall Classic on Sept. 23.
-Captured the 2016 Dutch National Open Championship.
-Captured her first amateur championship crown during the 2014 Faldo Series.
-One of three freshmen on this year’s team.
Dewi Weber
-Leads the Hurricanes with a scoring average of 70.71 per round.
-Captured her third collegiate individual title, as she won the UCF Challenge on Feb. 6.
-Finished second at the Florida Challenge on Jan. 29.
-Has posted 15 career top 10 finishes.
-Tied for 18th in the 2017 Betsy Rawls Invitational.
-Captured medalist honors at the 2016 Betsy Rawls Invitational with a three-round total of 201, posting rounds of 64-65-72=201.
-Tied for seventh at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate.
-Tied for fourth to open the year at the Schooner Fall Classic on Sept. 25.
-Has posted 24 rounds of 70-or-fewer.
-Selected as a 2017 Golfweek Preseason All-American.
