@CanesRowing Wraps Regular Season at UCF
ORLANDO, Fla. — The University of Miami rowing team closed out the 2017 regular season with a dual regatta at UCF Saturday morning.
“It’s been a season of positive progress for our team, but today was a tough day of racing where we could have executed better,” Miami head coach Dave Sanderson said. “It was out of character for our team. However, I’m incredibly encouraged by their positive, resilient attitudes. I expect they will be highly motivated to get back to work Monday morning.”
The Hurricanes and Knights opened the racing on Lake Pickett with the Varsity Eight at 8 a.m., and Miami finished just behind UCF with a time of 7:01.77.
The Second Varsity Eight also placed second to the Knights, posting a time of 7:24.44, while the Varsity Four was third in a field of four boats with a time of 8:27.49.
Miami’s Third Varsity Eight closed out the day’s competition with a second place performance, crossing the finish line in 8:97.74.
The Hurricanes will turn their attention to the postseason, with the ACC Rowing Championships coming up on May 13-14. For a complete look at Miami’s schedule, click here.
