@CanesRowing Closing Regular Season at UCF

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — The University of Miami rowing team will close out the 2017 regular season with a dual regatta at UCF.

The Hurricanes and Knights will open the racing on Lake Pickett with the Varsity Eight at 8 a.m. The Second Varsity Eight will follow at 8:20 a.m. and the Varsity Four will race at 8:40 a.m. The Third Varsity Eight is slated for a 9 a.m. race to close out the day’s competition.

“Our annual race with UCF is always a great matchup,” Miami head coach Dave Sanderson said. “It’s fantastic that our two Florida schools get to meet up in a traditional dual race format each year. We have had some very close, exciting racing in the past and I expect the same this weekend.”

Saturday’s racing will give Miami’s four boats their final opportunity to compete before 2017 ACC Rowing Championships. It will also mark the final regular season race for seniors Alexandra Gunner and Catherine Tayler.

Following this weekend’s action UCF, the Canes will prepare for the ACC Rowing Championship on May 13-14. For a complete look at Miami’s schedule, click here.
