Quick Hits with Carly Davey
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Quick Hits gives University of Miami volleyball fans an opportunity to get to know the newcomers on the 2016 Hurricanes roster.
In the first installment of Quick Hits, Canes fans got to meet freshman defensive specialist Sara Duque from Plantation, Fla. The latest edition of Quick Hits features another defensive specialist from Florida, Jacksonville native Carly Davey.

Q&A
Q: What has your time at Miami been like so far?
A: So far, it has been very fun. I have met a lot of other athletes and have really enjoyed being on campus with everyone.
Q: What has been your favorite part of being a Hurricane?
A: My favorite part about being a Hurricane is getting to be a part of such an amazing program. I have really enjoyed getting know all of my teammates and classmates, as well.
Q: Has anyone taken you under their wing, shown you around and helped with your transition to college? If so, who, and how have they helped you adjust?
A: All of the older volleyball girls have been very helpful. They have given me advice, showed me around campus, and helped me with my transition from high school to college.
Q: What has been the biggest adjustment for you since you arrived?
A: The biggest adjustment for me has been being away from my family and friends.
Q: Are there any classes you are taking so far that you like?
A: English 105 is very fun and interesting. My professor is very nice, funny and understanding.
Q: What made you choose your major?
A: I am leaning toward majoring in some kind of science, but I have not decided exactly what I would like to major in yet.
Q: What are you most excited for about being in college?
A: I am most excited about traveling for volleyball games during the season.
