@HurricanesGolf Tied For Fourth at the Bryan National Collegiate

BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. – The University of Miami women’s golf team got off to a strong start at the 2016 Bryan National Collegiate Friday afternoon. The Hurricanes opened the tournament with a round one score of 298 and are tied for fourth.

Miami’s round one score is just nine strokes behind tournament leader Virginia, which opened the three-day event with a round one score of 289. Miami’s five individuals all remain within the top 30 spots, entering day two action.

The 54-hole event is being held at the par 72, 6,386-yard Bryan Park Champion Course.

Hurricane junior Delfina Acosta paced the squad as she posted a round one score of one-over-par 73 and is tied for sixth.

Freshman Luiza Altmann also turned in a solid day one score, as she fired a 74 and is currently tied for 15th. Altman’s day one 74 is the lowest score she has tallied this year in an opening round.

Junior Daniela Darquea, freshman Dewi Weber and senior Kailey Walsh also remain within striking distance after they posted round one scores of 75 (tied for 22nd), 76 (tied for 28th) and 76 (tied for 28th), respectively.

East Carolina’s Nico Enstroem Skaug leads all individuals after she shot an opening round score of 70.
