@HurricanesGolf Fifth at the Wildcat Invitational

TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Miami women’s golf team is fifth, heading into the final round of play at the 2016 Wildcat Invitational.

The par 72, 6,492-yard, Sewailo Golf Club is the tournament host for the 54-hole event.

The Hurricanes posted a day-one score of 585, logging rounds of 294 (round one) and 291 (round two).

The Hurricanes enter the final round of play 11 strokes behind tournament leader Arizona State, which fired a day-one total of 574.

Junior Daniela Darquea and freshman Dewi Weber led the way for the Hurricanes as they posted day one totals of 138. Darquea and Weber are currently tied for second, heading into the final day.

Darquea posted back-to-back rounds of 69 during day one and has now shot under 70 in four-consecutive rounds.

Weber logged scores of 71 and 67. Her second round score of 67 was her lowest round of the year.
Arizona State’s Linnea Storm leads all individuals with a two-round score of 135.

Final round action begins tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. EST.
