Hurricanes Golf to Play in the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Championship
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s golf team returns to the course on Sunday to participate in the 2016 Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Golf Championship.
The 54-hole event will be held at the par 72, 6,239-yard English Turn Golf and Country Club in New Orleans, La.

Daniela Darquea

Dewi Weber
-Posted a career-best finish at the UCF Challenge as she placed fifth.
-She holds an average of 72.83.
-Logged seven birdies during the UCF Challenge
Luiza Altmann
–Was not on the team this past fall.
–Competed in her first tournament for the Hurricanes at the UCF Challenge.
-Won six amateur tournaments last year prior to her arrival at Miami.
Delfina Acosta
–Posted an average of 74.16.
-Holds a season-low 66 in the second round of the Dick McGuire Invitational.
-Scored a three-round total of 231 for the UCF Challenge.
Kailey Walsh
–Owns a scoring average of 76.88.
-Had a three-round total of 231 at the UCF Challenge.
-One of three seniors on this year’s team.
RECAPPING LAST WEEK
Miami finished tied for 11th at the UFC Challenge in its first tournament of the spring season. The Hurricanes finished the tournament with a three-round total of 909.
The Hurricanes posted a final round team score of 303. The three-day event was held at the par 72, 6,349-yard Eagle Greek Golf Club.
Freshman Dewi Weber led the way for Miami as she placed fifth with a three-round total of 219. Weber posted a final day score of one-under-par of 71. She finished the tournament with a team-best seven birdies over the three-day event.
