Canes Golf Sits Eighth After Two Rounds

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s golf team is in eighth place as it heads into the final round of play at the 2015 Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational.

The 54-hole event is being held at the par 72, 6,298-yard University of Texas Golf Course.

The Hurricanes posted a 36-hole tally of 591. Day one competition opened Monday morning with Miami posting an opening round of 291. Miami followed its opening 18 holes with a second round 300.

Freshman Dewi Weber paced the Canes with two-round total of 146 as she fired rounds of 71 (round one) and 75 (round two). Weber is currently tied for 16th and sits just five strokes behind the individual leaders.

Senior Kailey Walsh (71-77) and junior Daniela Darquea are tied for 28th after they fired rounds of 148.

Kent State holds the team lead after it posted a day one team total of 575.

KSU’s Taylor Kim and UNLV’s Elizabeth Prior share the individual lead after they carded a day one total of 141.
