Anderson Elevated to Sr. Associate AD
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami department of athletics announced today the promotion of Craig Anderson to Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance.
Anderson was elevated to the role of Senior Associate Athletic Director for compliance after he spent the previous two years, serving as the department’s Associate Athletic Director for Complinace.
“Craig is a rising star in intercollegiate athletics and has become a key member of our senior staff,” said Deputy Athletics Director Jennifer Strawley. “Under Craig’s leadership we have developed a top compliance program and I am thrilled we are able to reward his hard work, dedication and leadership with a well-deserved promotion.”
Anderson is responsible for managing all aspects of the compliance unit’s effort, including educating the athletics department and university staff, boosters, coaches and student-athletes about NCAA and ACC regulations.
“I couldn’t be more excited about the direction Miami Athletics is headed,” Anderson said. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to play a role in the department’s advancement moving forward.”
In addition, Anderson is responsible for overseeing the compliance monitoring systems related to recruiting, certification and eligibility. Anderson is also the Sport Supervisor for the women’s golf program.
Anderson was hired as Associate AD for Compliance at the University of Miami on Feb. 27, 2013. He came to UM after spending three years as the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance at NC State.
Anderson began his career as an Assistant Director of Compliance, spending 14 months at UNLV from July 2006-September 2007.
A native of Painted Post, N.Y., Anderson graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. A year later, he graduated from Marshall University with a master’s degree in athletic administration.
