Cross Country Competes at ACC Championships

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Miami cross country program wrapped up competition at the 2014 ACC Cross Country Championships

The Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships were held at the Panorama Farms Cross Country Course in Charlottesville, Va. The men ran an 8K race, while the women completed a 6K course. Panorama Farms features two 5K courses, as well as a 6K, 8K and 10K course.

“I feel both team competed hard today,” Miami distance coach Damon Griffiths said. “We had several positives this season. We will take a break and start preparing for track season.”

Senior Douglas Dourado led the Hurricane men with a time of 26:09.9, while freshman Sean Grossman finished in 26:46.7 and senior JaCee Jarnagin rounded out Miami’s top three finishers with a time of 27:03.3. Sophomore Jon Keller and senior AJ Ricketts also represented the Canes at the 2014 ACC Cross Country Championships.

Gabrielle Hesslau was Miami’s top finisher on the women’s side, crossing the finish line in 23:21.5. Fellow sophomore Frida Carlsson followed Hesslau, finishing in 24:05.2. Senior Julia Koch, freshman Mully Manning, junior Katie Paine, senior Kelly Williamson and freshman Janine Depree rounded out the Hurricanes competing in the women’s 6K.
