Canes on Track - Ep. 2 - Gabrielle Hesslau

Canes on Track is a video series giving an in-depth look at the Miami track and field and cross country programs.

Hosted by senior Taneisha Cordell, Canes on Track will feature interviews with coaches and student-athletes, as well as a look behind-the-scenes of the @MiamiTrack program.

In the latest episode of Canes on Track, Cordell sits down with sophomore distance runner Gabrielle Hesslau. The Downers Grove, Ill., native has been Miami’s top runner on the women’s side in 2014.

Hesslau placed first in 5000m with a time of 19:55.7 at FAU Invitational and led the women’s team with a ninth place finish in the women’s 5000m (19:01.83) at the USF Invitational. In her most recent race, Hesslau completed the Paul Short 6K Run with a time of 22:49 that ranks 10th all-time on Miami’s 6K list.
