Golf Jumps to No. 26 in Golfstat Standings
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Miami Hurricanes women’s golf team continues its steady climb up the rankings, moving up five spots to No. 26 in the latest Golfstat head-to-head standings.
Miami has finished in the top four in each of its last six tournaments, including a fourth-place finish March 16 at the SunTrust Gator Women’s Invitational in Gainesville. Prior to that, the Hurricanes had reeled off four straight third-place finishes.
The Hurricanes are led by freshman Daniela Darquea, who has won back-to-back individual titles at the Hurricane Invitational and Gator Women’s Invitational. Darquea, rated No. 52 overall by Golfstat, is averaging a 72.60 scoring average over 20 rounds, while also posting Miami’s lowest 18-, 36- and 54-hole scores this season.
Miami concludes its spring regular-season slate March 24-26 at the SDSU Farms Invitational in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., before heading to Greensboro, N.C., for the 2014 ACC Championship (April 18-20).
