Rowing Wraps Scrimmage vs. Michigan
TAMPA, Fla. — The University of Miami rowing program opened its 2014 spring season with a scrimmage against the University of Michigan.
The Canes and Wolverines completed four runs of 1000m. All Miami rowers participated in the scrimmage as the Canes raced a 1V8+, a 2V8+ and two V4+ boats against the Wolverines.
“The team raced hard today and I am proud of them for that,” Miami head coach Dave Sanderson said. “Ultimately, we fell short to an unrelenting Michigan squad. However, I think we learned some valuable racing lessons today. I look forward to building from this experience during out spring training camp which begins Monday.”
Miami’s spring training camp will further its preparation for first official race of the 2014 championship season when the Canes host UConn at the Ronald W. Shane Watersports Center on March 21.
