Lindsi Arrington Named All-ACC Academic
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Lindsi Arrington was one of 32 female cross country runners to earn 2013 All-ACC Academic honors.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
“I am extremely proud of Lindsi and her academic accomplishments,” Miami director of track and field/cross country Amy Deem said. “She is a tremendous student-athlete who gives a 100 percent effort in everything she does.”
The senior, who carries a 3.731 cumulative GPA, earned her second All-ACC Academic honor. A year ago, she was named to the 2013 All-ACC Academic Team for Indoor Track and Field.
Arrington spent her senior season as Miami’s top female runner. The Woodbridge, Va., native competed in seven races, including the ACC Championships and the NCAA South Regional. Arrington capped her cross country career by running the second-fastest women’s 6K time in school history (21:15.53) at the 2013 NCAA South Regional.
She finished the year with four Top 10 finishes, including a second place finish at the WA Collegiate Invitational. Her personal-best 5K time of 17:36.23, set at the 2013 Disney World Classic, also ranks second in UM history.
The motion picture practice major is currently in Albuquerque, N.M., with Miami’s track and field team as they prepare to open competition at the Don Kirby Invitational.
