UM Athletics staff member Rick Remmert (Director of Alumni Programs) and team dentist Dr. Marco Leyte-Vidal were also inducted.
Iron Arrow Honor Society, founded in 1926 in conjunction with the University’s opening, is the highest honor attained at the University of Miami. Based on Seminole Indian tradition, Iron Arrow recognizes those individuals in the University of Miami community who exemplify the five qualities of Iron Arrow:
Love of Alma Mater, Character, Leadership, Scholarship, and Humility.
Cuculiza, a double major in finance and marketing with a minor in philosophy, sports a nearly perfect GPA of 3.979.

She’s also made both the Dean’s List (3.5+ GPA) and Provost’s Honor Roll (3.75+ GPA) in each of her first six semesters in Coral Gables. More impressive e than the other lists: Cuculiza has made the President’s Honor Roll – a perfect 4.0 GPA – five times.

As a junior in 2012-13, she posted her best season with a 77.45 scoring average, competing in 10 tournaments for the Hurricanes. Cuculiza is also the Miami Hurricanes’ Student-Athlete of the Game for Homecoming against Virginia Tech.
Green, who is slated to graduate in December, has started 20 straight games at defensive end for the Hurricanes. He was the co-winner of the 2012 Brian Piccolo Award, which has been given annually since 1972 in memory of the late Brian Piccolo to the “most courageous” football player in the ACC. Through eight games in 2013, Green has 38 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks.
Remmert has served as UM’s Director of Alumni Programs since August 2012. He returned to the UM Athletics Department after previously spent nine years as Assistant AD for Marketing and Promotions from 1978-87. Considered college baseball’s first full-time marketing director, the UM graduate was initially hired by legendary coach Ron Fraser to lead the team’s marketing efforts. Under the watch of both Fraser and Remmert, the program would set national college baseball records for season tickets sold, attendance and revenue, and led the nation in those categories for seven consecutive years (1981-87).
Remmert currently coordinates reunion events for athletics alumni, most recently spearheading the 30th Anniversary celebration of the 1983 National Champion football team.
Born in Havana, Cuba, Dr. Leyte-Vidal is a 1982 graduate of the University of Miami and later graduated from dental school at the University of Florida in 1986. Since then, he has been in private practice in South Florida, while also spending five years as an Assistant Professor with the University of Miami School of Medicine, Department of Surgery, and Division of Oral and Maxillofacial dentistry.
