Williams Earns All-America Honors

CORALGABLES, Fla. – Indoor season is over and Miami has another All-American.

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross CountryCoaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced that Samantha Williams is one of the288 men and 266 women who have earned USTFCCCCA All-America honors for the 2013NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field season based on their performances atthe Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Williams earned second team All-America honorsin the women’s triple jump. The senior recently competed in the NCAA IndoorChampionships, placing ninth among 16 competitors with a mark of 42’6.75″.

The St. Andrew, Jamaica, native’s final collegiateindoor season was a good one. Williams earned several Top 3 finishes, includingwins at the VT Qualifer and the Auburn Invitational.

An All-American last season, Williams islooking forward to the start of outdoor season this weekend at the HurricaneInvitational. Williams and her teammates will host the event scheduled for Mar.15-16 at Cobb Stadium on the University of Miami campus.
