XC Concludes Season at NCAA South Regional
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The University of Miami cross country teams wrapped up their seasons on Friday competing at the NCAA South Regional on the campus of Florida State. The men finished ahead of five teams for a 21st-place finish, while two women ran solid times as individuals.
Running as a team, the men were led in the 10k by senior Greg Kaczka finishing 55th with a time of 32:11.5. He also put up the best time for the Canes at the ACC Championships on Oct. 27. Junior Sean Pezzulo finished his strong season with a mark of 32:45.0 to place in 78th, while sophomore JaCee Jarnigen (107th, 33:14.6), junior Luke Fontaine (127th, 33:43.3), sophomore AJ Ricketts (147th, 34:22.0) and freshman Kevin Marsh (153rd, 34:41.2) also represented Miami.
The group earned 493 team points to place ahead of Vanderbilt, Mississippi Valley, Tennessee Tech, Florida Atlantic and USF.
Juniors Lindsi Arrington and Alaine Tate both competed as individuals on the women’s side, clocking in at 21:59.6 (93rd) and 22:39.8 (127th), respectively, in the 6k race.
The event was run at Apalachee Regional Park, with 382 runners and 55 teams competing between the two races.
