SODERTALJE, SWEDEN – Junior Gina Graziani sunk a two-footjump shot with four seconds remaining to lift the University of Miami women’sbasketball team to a 75-74 win over Sodertalje BBC at Taljehallen Gym inSodertalje, Sweden. The Hurricanes’ victory came in the first gameof an 11-day tour of Sweden and Denmark.

Senior Kym Hope led Miami with 20 points to go along with fiverebounds and five steals. Cassaundra Wimes finished with 17 pointsand Beth Barnhart added 16 for the ‘Canes. Facing her former clubteam, Swedish native and current UM sophomore Camilla Osth pulled downfive rebounds and scored two points.

Sodertalje BBC jumped out early and led by as many as nine points inthe first half before Hope’s layup as time expired gave Miami a 38-37 halftimelead.

Malin Hallberg led Sodertalje with 23 points while Josefine Johanssonscored 22.

The Hurricanes will continue their Scandinavian tour August 11against Visby BBC in Visby, Sweden.
