CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Freshman Christine Cech took first place in the200 free (1:55.93), 50 free (24.41) and 100 butterfly (59.54)to leadthe University of Miami’s women’s swimming and diving team to victoryover Boston College 175-129 in a dual meet Saturday at the WhittenStudent Union Pool on the UM campus. The victory improved the’Canesdual meet record to 5-0.

The women had first-placefinishes in all but two of the 14events. Junior Julie Kemp placed first in the 200 butterfly (2:02.62)and 500 free (5:04.52). Sophomore Jennifer Weir took first inthe 100breastroke (1:06.42) and 100 free (54.1).

Other individual winners include diver Jenny Keim inboth the 1-and 3-meter diving competitions, Amy Lindblom in the 1000free (10:34.60), and Rhiannon Leier in the 200 breastroke (2:21.6).

The UM men and women returnto action on November 14 at IndianRiver Community College in Ft. Pierce, FL. The meet is scheduledtobegin at 1:00 p.m.
