ANCHORAGE, Alaska. – The University of Miami women’s basketball team, ranked No. 9 nationally will take on USF in the championship game of the Great Alaska Shootout today at 8 p.m. EST at Sullivan Arena.

In first round action on Wednesday, the Hurricanes defeated host Alaska Anchorage, 72-55. Shenise Johnson led the Canes with 18 points, five rebounds, four assists and six steals, on her way to earning Player of the Game honors. Anchorage native, Sylvia Bullock led Miami with six rebounds to go along with her six points.

USF made a late charge in regulation to send their contest with Central Michigan into overtime, where the Bulls pulled out the 86-80 victory, the team’s fourth straight win.
