Coral Gables, Fla.–As a student-athlete at the University of Miami, I am forever grateful for the scholarship I have been provided throughout my academic and athletic endeavors. I have become an entirely new individual from my first day on campus, arriving for summer school session one, to today. I came to UM as an insecure, disheartened, and intimidated young lady and will be leaving as a strong, wise, and bold woman.

As a Hurricane Club intern, I have developed a greater appreciation and a broader perspective of how the UM Athletic Department operates. When you are a student-athlete, responsibilities and daily tasks such as class, practice, therapy, and weights tend to be the main focus, understandably. However, my time working within the department provided me with a broader picture of how I am able to do all that I am as a student-athlete.

This only leaves me to say, “thank you!” Thank you Hurricane Club Members for your commitment and dedication to the student-athletes at the “U.” Thank you to all those who have supported UM athletics and the student-athlete experience such as mine!
