GREENSBORO, N.C. – Atlantic Coast Conference Commissioner John D. Swofford has announced that three student-athletes from the University of Miami women’s track and field have been named to the All-ACC Academic Indoor Track and Field Team.
Senior Megan Novinger and classmate Miranda Wilson earned laurels for the third time, while freshman Alyssa McClure was honored by the conference for her work in her first year at Miami.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during their academic career.
Novinger, a Miami native, recently earned All-ACC honors at the conference championships with a third place finish in the high jump (1.68m). The Criminology major registered a 3.326 GPA and is on course to graduate in May.
Wilson, a psychology major, is also on track to pick up her degree this spring with 3.493 GPA. The Vallejo, Calif. native is one of the top throwers on the team, competing in the discus and hammer throws for the Canes.
McClure, a business major, posted a 3.381 GPA while competing as a sprinter for the Hurricanes. Originally from Baltimore, Md., the freshman took part in the 4×100 relay and the 100m dash among other races this spring.
