CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Head Coach Patti Rizzo and the University of Miami women’s golf program have announced the signings of Rika Park (above) and Shannon Pak. Both have inked National Letters of Intent to attend the University of Miami this fall.

Rizzo and assistant coach John Koskinen are working the recruiting trail tirelessly in their first year at Miami, scouting the top juniors in the world looking to return the five-time national champion program to elite national status. Two prospects have been signed thus far, with the potential for more as the recruiting class develops in the coming weeks.

The first signee, Rika Park, is a star on the International Junior Golf Tour having won five of the six tournaments she has played in since September, finishing in a tie for second in the other event. Over that time, she has recorded a stroke average of 74.33. The high school senior is originally from Fujieda-Shi-Shizuoka, Japan, and now attends Heritage Academy in South Carolina.

Shannon Pak also signed on to play golf at the University of Miami. She has attended the David Ledbetter Golf Academy in Bradenton, Fla. for the last three years, coming to Miami highly recommended from Shane Reisner, the academy’s director.

“I evaluated Shannon and Rika closely and I am confident that their talents will help lead the ‘Canes to become one of the best teams in the nation once again,” said Rizzo.

The Hurricanes will be back in action on April 15th at the ACC Championships in Greensboro, N.C.
