Hurricanes at Home This Weekend

CORAL GABLES, Fla.– Fresh off the University of Miami football team’s big win at Pittsburgh Thursday night, there are a number of other UM teams in action this weekend in Coral Gables while the football enjoys the next few days off.

Hurricane fans have plenty of affordable options on campus the next three days, beginning with a pair of events today. The women’s tennis team is playing host to the 2010 Miami Fall Invitational at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center where admission is free Friday through Sunday. Also on Friday, the volleyball team is back in action as the Hurricanes will take on Virginia Tech tonight at 7 p.m. at the Knight Sports Complex.

Saturday is a day at the courts, with day two of the Miami Fall Invitational. Matches get underway at 10 a.m.

The busiest day of the weekend is Sunday however, when women’s tennis, volleyball and soccer will all be in action. Tennis starts at 10 a.m. followed by soccer, who will play host to rival Florida State at noon at Cobb Stadium. From there, fans can walk into the Knight Sports Complex to check out volleyball at 1 p.m. against Virginia.

The women’s tennis team is opening its 2010 fall season, while both volleyball and soccer are off strong starts this year. Soccer is 6-2-1 and heading into ACC play, while volleyball comes into tonight’s match with a 10-2 mark overall and a 0-1 record in ACC play

Three great events all with 100 yards of each other on UM’s campus Sunday.

Tickets to volleyball and soccer are $3 for youth, $5 for adults and free for students with their Cane Card.
